A Design Education Environment Utilizing the Continuity of Reality and Virtuality

Recently, as interest in the metaverse has increased, many fields are talking about the potential of metaverse utilization, but there is a lack of empirical research approaches to space and content utilizing the continuity of reality and virtuality. In this study, to improve the quality of education in the design field related to online education and virtual space, we intend to focus on the educational environment in the design field using various academic support technologies. The purpose of this study is to provide the primary data needed to develop design education methods and contents using virtual space by studying the learner and instructor-centered digital education environment from the architectural point of view and HCI (Human-Computer Interaction) point of view. . To this end, we intend to conduct empirical research and develop a design education environment model that utilizes the continuity of reality and virtual reality to more effectively use the virtual environment in design education.
